ArcaBoard 2
The second generation of a revolutionary personal electric flying vehicle

The ArcaBoard 2 is the latest evolution of the revolutionary ArcaBoard, which was released by ArcaSpace 10 years ago.
While personal flying vehicles are slowly becoming a reality, the original ArcaBoard, released in 2015, essentially kick-started the market for personal electric VTOL vehicles.
Now, ten years later, the luxury fashion brand ArcaFashion is introducing the ArcaBoard 2. This new model has been designed to greatly increase the original's endurance, speed and range.
The ArcaBoard is produced in the EU, at ArcaSpace's facilities.
Airframe
The ArcaBoard 2 is made from the same composite materials that ArcaSpace uses for manufacturing rockets and spacecraft. This creates a structure that is very lightweight, yet stiff and resilient. The ArcaBoard 2's structure alone weighs just 30 kg.
The vehicle comprises three main sections: the fuselage; the right and left main propulsion nacelles; and the underbelly cruise nacelles.
The fuselage houses the prone pilot. The pilot is protected by a frontal halo structure and a 10 cm-thick composite and foam structure on the sides.
The pilot enjoys good visibility in all directions, making the most of the benefits of flying in the prone position.

Propulsion
The ArcaBoard 2 is a machine lifted by six outrunner electric motors with ducted propellers, offering a maximum total thrust of 180 kgf for hovering.
Each motor is powered by Li-Po batteries at 42V.
The ducted propeller, made from composite materials, offers 20% higher thrust than an open propeller, further increasing the propulsion system’s efficiency.
The two motors housed in the underbelly nacelles provide the cruise thrust.

Flight control
The ArcaBoard 2 provides complete freedom of movement in all directions.
Like a motorcycle, it is controlled by shifting the rider's centre of gravity to adjust the pitch and roll.
Yaw control is achieved using two EDF thrusters located at the rear of the vehicle.
The throttle lever is operated by the pilot in a manner similar to that of a fighter jet. Pushing the main throttle lever forward increases thrust, causing the vehicle to move upwards, while pulling it back decreases thrust, causing the vehicle to move downwards.
Additionally, the pilot can choose to engage or disengage the flight stabilisation system to make the flight experience smoother or more thrilling.

The most natural flying position
The ArcaBoard 2 is designed for riding in a prone position.
We opted for this position rather than a seated position because we believe it offers the most intimate flying experience. In a seated position, looking down at our feet while flying would obstruct our view and detract from the experience, so we wanted to avoid that.
When we dream of flying, we don't dream of flying sitting in a chair. We dream of flying with our chests facing the ground and looking down freely. Birds fly with their chests facing the ground.
Therefore, with the ArcaBoard 2, we aimed to offer pilots the most intimate flying experience possible.

Recharging
The ArcaBoard 2's batteries can be recharged using standard home power sockets or street stations designed for cars.
A full recharge takes 45 minutes.
Alternatively, additional battery packs can be purchased for the ArcaBoard 2 to enable quick battery changes.

Safety first
Over the past 26 years, ArcaSpace has performed dozens of missions in the most difficult conditions on land, at sea, in the air and in near-space, and has an impeccable safety record. This has been achieved thanks to the strict safety procedures that have been implemented.
Therefore, it is only logical to apply this philosophy to the design and operation of the ArcaBoard 2 vehicle.
The maximum altitude limit of three metres has been set for safety reasons.
Our product is not designed for extreme adventures or risk-takers, but for those who prioritise safety and want to experience the most intimate form of flight.
Flying close to the ground is consistent with the original ArcaBoard philosophy of flight and safety.
Furthermore, the ducted propellers offer significant advantages in terms of both efficiency and safety.
The pilot's body is surrounded by a 10 cm-thick composite and foam structure that is exceptional at absorbing impact shocks.
The cruise nacelles, which also act as landing gear, are elastic and brake on impact, absorbing the shock in a similar way to the seats in space capsules during crash landings.
A halo structure protects the pilot's head, a feature also seen in the latest generation of the most advanced European racing cars.
